Field day is this Monday. Concessions will be sold from the concession stand. Food items will be sold from the stage in the cafeteria. We will sell water at the park and the restrooms will be open. The prices for food are as follows: All Candy - $2.00 Drinks - $2.00 Ice Cream - $2.00 Pickles - $2.00 Pizza - $3.00 Nachos - $3.00 Cheese Fries - $4.00 Cheese Sticks - $4.00 Students are encouraged to bring items such as water bottles, sun screen, etc.
In the event of severe weather this evening, the sixth grade FEMA wing at the middle school will be open. Enter through door number nine. Anyone who shelters at the Middle School must remain in the FEMA hallway only and if pets are brought, they must be crated for the entirety of the stay.
A message will be posted to the school Facebook page if/when the building is opened. Please wait until the “building is open” post is made to ensure the building is available upon your arrival.
Any eighth grader who wants to tryout for high school golf needs to email Coach Dale Martin at dmartin@gcssd.org to set up a tee time.
Girls soccer tryouts will be May 15th, 16th, and 17th after school from 3:15-4:30pm. A sign-up sheet will be in the main office and students must have a current physical uploaded in Dragonfly before they will be allowed to participate.

Students must have attached physical forms signed by parents before they show up at clinic to get physical. This physical also needs to be uploaded to dragonfly.

The Boys Soccer team finished their season last Friday at Jackson Christian against St. Mary’s in the 3rd/4th place game. They defeated them 2-1 in penalties! Congrats to the boys on a great season!
Last week, the South Gibson Middle School Baseball Team beat Crockett County in the conference championship 5-3! The program had a 21-2 record (11-1 conference record). The following players were awarded All-District Team for the Hornets: Tyler DeHaan, Miles McClure, Gage Allen, Brady Miller and Drake Lewis. We wish all of our 8th graders luck as they move forward into their high school careers! Congrats to SGCMS Hornets on a successful season!
Congratulations to the girls golf team for finishing runner-up in the district tournament today at Humboldt Golf and Country Club! They will compete in the sectional tournament next Monday at Jackson National for a chance to compete in the state tournament! Anna Claire Hardin finished runner-up over all. Congratulations and good luck next week girls.

Congratulations to Sophie Ingle and Anna Claire Hardin on their victory over JCS and USJ today at Jackson Country Club. The golf team will compete in the district tournament on Monday at Humboldt Golf and Country Club.
Yesterday, the students of SGCMS celebrated the second birthday of our school therapy dog, Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt.
SGCMS will distribute yearbooks on Monday. If your child has not purchased a yearbook, the cost is $75.
